Sasha McCoy, 28, pleaded guilty this week to voluntary manslaughter in connection to the death of her toddler in October 2022.

Prosecutors said that at around 1 p.m. on Oct. 28, 2022, McCoy took her two children to the back bedroom of the home she was staying out for a nap and placed them in bed.

When McCoy returned to check on them, she found her daughter unconscious and unresponsive.

She later died at the hospital.

A small plastic bag that contained two blue round pills with a monogram “M” and half of an oval pill were discovered on top of the bed that the children were sleeping in.

The drug analysis determined that the partial tablet was Alprazolam (Xanex).

The oval pills were determined to contain 4-ANPP, Acetaminophen, Fentanyl, Flurofentanyl, as well as other substances.

Medical examiners determined the child died from fentanyl and flurofentanyl intoxication.

McCoy has been in custody since her arrest in February. As part of her guilty plea, she agreed to a prison term of between four and 10 years behind bars, followed by five years of supervised release.
